School Song / Himno de Lincoln-Marti

Mi canción para tí

Lincoln-Martí, conmigo estarás

Y tus recuerdos siempre voy a amar

En tus entrañas, aprendí a soñar

Cosa que nunca yo podré olvidar.

Canto esta canción que es para tí,

Y haremos tus sueños realidad,

Estudiando por el porvenir,

Somos orgullo de la Lincoln Martí.

Uniendo la fuerza y la amistad,

Conquistaremos un mundo

Lleno de amor y libertad.

Canto esta canción que es para tí,

Y haremos tus sueños realidad,

Estudiando por el porvenir,

Somos orgullo de la Lincoln Martí

Somos orgullo de la Lincoln Martí.

My song for you

Lincoln Martí, you'll always be with me

And your memories I'll keep lovingly

Inside your walls I learned how to dream

A part of me you will always be.

I am singing now this song to you

and I'm going to make your dreams come true

Studying for a future soon to be

we are proud students of Lincoln Martí.

With strength and friendship always together

we are going to conquer the world easily

with plenty of love, and liberty.

I am singing now this song to you

and I'm going to make your dreams come true

Studying for a future soon to be

we are proud students of Lincoln Martí

we are proud students of Lincoln Martí

THE NATIONAL ANTHEM: THE STAR-SPANGLED BANNER

Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight;
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming.
And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

The Star-Spangled Banner is the national anthem or song of the United States. The words were written by Francis Scott Key in 1814. He watched a night-time battle between England and America. He was very excited when the American flag was still flying in the morning.

 THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Pledge of Allegiance is a promise of loyalty to the United States. Here are the words to the Pledge:

I pledge allegiance
to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic
for which it stands,
one nation,
under God,
indivisible,
with liberty
and justice for all.

Under the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Paragraph 172, the Pledge of Allegiance should be recited standing, facing the flag with the right hand over he heart. Uniformed personnel should render the military salute.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written by Reverend Francis Bellamy for use at he dedication of the World's Fair Grounds in Chicago on October 21, 1892. The wording was slightly altered in 1923 and 1924 by the First and Second National Flag Conferences. It was officially designated as the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag by Congress in 1945. The words "under God" were added in 1954 in a law signed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
